Telegram uptime alerts for confirmed state changes
Receive supported monitor and incident notifications in your private Telegram chat, with a link back to Upteno. Connect the contact first, then choose which events should reach it.
Connect your private chat
Open Account settings, choose Contacts, and start the Telegram connection. Follow the one-time bot link and complete the connection in Telegram within 15 minutes. Return to Upteno to check the connected contact. This workflow connects one verified private Telegram chat for your account. It does not configure a group chat or channel. Personal Telegram contacts are managed in Contacts, while workspace integrations have their own page.
Test the contact, then configure events
Send a contact test to check the connection. In Notifications, configure the effective workspace, group, or monitor policy, recipients, supported event types, and quiet periods. For downtime, review Down and Recovery events. For certificate expiry, enable the Degraded event as well. A working contact test confirms the test path; it does not exercise every event rule or prove future delivery.
Follow the notification back to the evidence
Monitor and incident notifications include an Open in Upteno button. Use it to inspect the monitor state, incident timeline, and supporting observations rather than diagnosing a failure from a short message alone. Notification timing depends on the monitoring interval, confirmation rules, quiet periods, maintenance, and provider delivery. A single failed observation need not become an alert.
If a message does not arrive
Check that the chat is still connected, the recipient is included, and the event is enabled by the effective policy. Review quiet periods and maintenance, then inspect notification history. History records generated messages; it is not a Telegram read receipt. Telegram rejection can disable a connection, and temporary provider failures can delay delivery. Reconnect and test the contact when its connection needs attention.
Keep responsibility visible
Each teammate should connect their own contact and be included in the intended policy. Use an additional supported channel when your response process needs another way to reach the recipient. Upteno is a free public beta. Decide who responds and how to escalate a missed alert before making Telegram part of a client support commitment.
